General advice means that the information contained in the Evaluate system has been prepared without taking into account your personal financial circumstances. Before considering purchasing Evaluate, you should consult your financial adviser to ensure that you fall within the Corporations Act definition of a wholesale investor. Evaluate is not available to retail investors.

Evaluate Methodology and Track Record – The Evaluate share ranking system changes daily to reflect changes in each stocks performance according to the sixteen selected measures of Value, Quality, Growth and Momentum. The track record of Evaluate as stated on this website is based on an analysis of how stocks would have scored on the first of each quarter each year from January 2006, and the subsequent performance of those stocks to the end of that quarter. In other words, they are simulated returns.

Stocks are ranked according to Deciles with the highest scoring stocks being ranked 10 and the lowest scoring stocks being ranked 1. At the end of each quarter, an up to date ranking system is produced, which again is tested over the next quarter. And so on.

The performance figures quoted for the “Evaluate Top Stocks” refer to the performance of Decile 10 as a whole. As stated above, they are simulated returns, not actual performance of an investors’ assets. They take no account of dealing charges and assume that all stocks could be purchased on the first day of each quarter, which may not always be possible in practice. Thus, depending on when investments are made, the returns that an investor may achieve may be significantly different from the returns advertised.

Evaluate’s track record rests on stocks in the highest decile (Top Stocks) having outperformed the market. In addition, historically, stocks in the lowest decile have underperformed. However, there can be no guarantee that this will remain so. Also, quarterly performance may fluctuate significantly.
You should bear in mind that the performance of individual stocks may vary significantly from the performance of its decile as a whole.
The absolute value of stocks in each decile may rise or fall dependent on overall market conditions. It is entirely possible that stocks in the highest deciles can fall in absolute terms, whether they outperform other deciles or not.

All stocks in the Evaluate universe are given equal weighting. Any comparisons of the Evaluate stocks against the ASX 100, 200 and 300 indices are based on those equal weightings. The official ASX indices are weighted. Therefore, the extent to which the largest stocks in the ASX indices perform well or badly will have a great bearing on how those indices perform. That will affect comparison with the Evaluate deciles.
